2.      MOTIVATIONAL GIFT
Romans 12:6   Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, let us prophesy in proportion to our faith; or ministry, let us use it in our ministering; he who teaches, in teaching; he who exhorts, in exhortation; he who gives, with liberality; he who leads, with diligence; he who shows mercy, with cheerfulness.

1 Corinthians 12: 7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all: for to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healings by the same Spirit, 10 to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues.

 B.  Definition of Manifestational (spiritual) Gifts

These are called “Spiritual Gifts” because they are imparted by the Holy Spirit.
They are also called “Manifestational Gifts” because they are a manifestation of the Holy Spirit in His work and activity.  We cannot see the Holy Spirit in person, but we can see the evidence of His activity through the operation of these gifts

II) Purpose Of The Gifts

1 Peter 4:10  As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.

A.  The gifts are distributed by the Holy Spirit so that the entire church will be built and edified.

They are not designed to bring attention to the one who operates the gift, but to bring glory to the Giver of the gift.
When people despise and neglect the gift or gifts that God has given them, they rob both themselves and the church.  Not only do they personally miss out, but also the entire church loses an expression of the Holy Spirit that was meant for the benefit of all.

B.  It is important to understand that the “gift” never becomes the “property” of the one who received it.
The gift always belongs to God.  We have a great responsibility to Him to be faithful stewards of the gifts we have received from Him.  This means we must be careful not to abuse the gifts, nor to neglect them.

C.   We must always remember that gifts, no matter how dramatic, are never the measure of a man’s spirituality.

That can only be measured by the fruit revealed by a person’s life, in particular, his character.

Gifts are more than natural human talent.
They are special endowments (gifts) imparted to a person by the Holy Spirit.  While God may well choose to use the natural abilities a person possesses, gifts of God go far beyond these.  Many times in fact people have discovered God using them in areas outside of their natural abilities and talents.
IV. MANIFESTATION GIFTS
1 CORINTHIANS 12 : 7- 11But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all: for to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healings by the same Spirit, 10 to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues. 11 But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually as He wills”.
V.  GIFTS ARE FOR THE CHURCH TODAY

THE GOSPEL HAS TO GO OUT IN POWER

Mark 16:15-18 Jesus said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation. 16 Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. 17 And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; 18 they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well.”
JESUS DOES NOT CHANGE
Hebrews 13:8 Jesus Christ is the SAME yesterday and TODAYand forever”.
James 1:17Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who DOES NOT CHANGE like shifting shadows”.
