We praise God for last weekend and for all that God did in Gaba. We had a great Jesus Festival with over 2000 students from schools and churches around the city. The joy of the Lord was really present and powerful.
The highlight of the day was that almost 240 students gave their lives to Jesus Christ and very many re-dedicated themselves to God.
The theme was “Standing Out” we were so greatly blessed with the speakers and the groups that performed. For all of us who are older Jesus Festival always brings us back to our young age.
Sunday was also a wonderful time at GCC, Pastor James Rene from Higher Vision Church California preached to us and the band from the same church led us into worship. Pastor James shared on the Topic of Transformation. He used Romans 8:28-30; we realized that transformation comes through the word of God, through renewing our minds and through worship and staying in the presence of God and finally through trials and tests that we go through.
I was amazed at the response this message brought to our congregation.
The last few days we have had a great worship conference which was put on by our Gaba Bible Institute in conjunction with the church at Rocky Peak. The many people I have talked to, have said that God challenged them to work with excellence and then improve on their skill.
Worship leaders came from churches around Uganda and went back on Friday ready to bring impact to their Local churches.
May God richly bless you, and may He bless richly.
Terrorist Attack
Last Sunday night was one of the worst terrorist attacks in our country Uganda.
We thank God that we at Gaba are all safe but many of our people lost their friends and loved ones. All our mission teams that are in Uganda are safe; we thank God, but we have heard that one church in Kampala had a mission team and six people on the team survived with injuries and the host pastor passed away.
The terrorist attack has caused a great shock, sadness and mourning in our city Kampala but this same attack is warning us to be more careful with our lives.
Isaiah 59:19-
This scripture says:-
So shall they fear The name of the LORD from the west And His glory from the rising of the sun: When the enemy comes in like a flood. The Spirit of the LORD will lift up a standard against him. NKJV
For us believers, the attack is showing that our enemy the devil is not happy with our nation, his desire is to kill, steal, destroy; but God’s desire is to raise a standard against the devil.
We believe that God has got a plan for our nation. A plan for saving people and bringing hope to the nation. We are more determined than ever to aggressively preach the gospel of salvation, that all may know Jesus.
So far it is reported that 76 people have passed away and many are still in hospitals. We are praying for God’s comfort to the people who lost their loved ones and quick healing to those who are still in hospitals.
A question is asked! Is it safe to come to Uganda? Yes it is safe but we have to be conscious. The government is working hard to protect the people and a few suspects have been caught. We have been warned to avoid crowded places.
We are not discouraged and we trust God to do great things in the coming days.
Talk to you again next week.
